Tik Tok has introduced a family protection feature

Video sharing app TikTok has introduced a unique family pairing feature to further improve user protection on the digital platform.

TikTok's Family Pairing feature allows parents and teens to customize safety settings to suit their individual needs.

TikTok aims to raise awareness of how parents can use the Family Pairing feature to monitor activities on teens' accounts, including direct messages, notifications, watch and download settings.

All these initiatives are an important part of TikTok's ongoing commitment to protect and care for young people on the platform.

The Family Pairing feature allows parents to link their TikTok accounts with their children's accounts and gain access to various controls. Under this feature, the screen time limit can be set to control the time spent by young people on Tik Tok daily, which provides an option of 40 to 120 minutes. Similarly, inappropriate and inappropriate content can also be controlled.

The Restricted Mode feature restricts the display of content that is inappropriate for people of all ages. Even without enabling the Family Pairing feature, parents can help their teens set Screen Time Management and Restricted Mode at any time by visiting the app's Digital Wellbeing controls.

Parents will be able to restrict who can send messages to the linked account through the Direct Messages option or turn off Direct Messaging completely. It has developed several policies and controls, for example, only approved followers can send messages to each other and TikTok does not allow photos and videos to be sent in messages. If a user is under 16 years of age, TikTok automatically disables direct messages.

The privacy and security settings option will give parents control over who can like and comment on their teen's videos. Whether to keep their account private or public, or recommend their account to other people or not.

Parents can also decide what content, people, hashtags or sounds their teen can search for.

Tik Tok has also partnered with some of Pakistan's most popular personalities and creators to create engaging content to expand Tik Tok's efforts to protect the family, which engages 13 to 19-year-olds. Special attention will be paid to customers.

Adoption of platforms like TikTok is also providing common tools for families to express their creativity, share stories and show support for communities. At the same time they are learning to navigate the digital landscape together, they are also focused on ensuring a secure experience.

With families in mind, over the past year, TikTok has taken a number of initiatives and enhanced its teams, policies, controls and educational resources. The platform has made policies more transparent and accessible. It has increased awareness and based on available resources, established a safety center where materials are also available in Urdu language and has partnered with prominent safety organizations of the world.

TikTok extends its commitment to consumer protection with the Family Pairing feature, which expands the platform's suite of security tools and complements its efforts to provide greater access to product features. Because in this way the digital literacy of consumers crosses an important milestone. Giving parents a better online experience and ability to guide their teens, as well as providing time for education about online safety and digital citizenship, is part of TalkTalk's ongoing efforts.
