The Islamabad High Court has granted interim bail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the case of threatening a female judge.
On Sunday, Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan's lawyer Dr. Babar Awan filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court.
The position has been adopted in the petition that 'a case of terrorism was initially made against Imran Khan, the High Court removed the provisions of terrorism and then the case was transferred to the Sessions Court.'
It has been stated in the petition that the purpose of the case is to stop the peaceful political movement by arresting Imran Khan.
"The political opposition government has maliciously created a false case for nefarious purposes. The only purpose of filing the case is to stop the peaceful movement against the corruption mafia."Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of Islamabad High Court granted interim bail to Imran Khan and directed him to submit a bond of 10,000.
The court has ordered the former prime minister to appear in the concerned court.
On Saturday evening, the arrest warrant of the former prime minister was issued by the area magistrate of Margalla police station. A case was registered against Imran Khan in Margalla police station on August 20.
The party leaders reacted to the issuance of the arrest warrant of Imran Khan by the local court of Islamabad, while the Islamabad Police has said that the issuance of the arrest warrant is a legal process.
After the news of issuance of arrest warrant, some PTI workers reached Bani Gala Chowk while PTI leaders reacted to it.
Islamabad Police said in a statement that an arrest warrant is a legal process. Imran Khan did not appear in the court on the previous appearance. An arrest warrant has been issued to ensure his appearance in court.
According to the police, the Hon'ble Supreme Court had issued an order to drop the section of terrorism from the case number 407/22. After this order, the case was transferred to the Sessions Court. Imran Khan has not yet got his bail from the session court. In case of non-appearance, they can be arrested.
