British soldier 'Rambo' survives Russian attack in Ukraine

A British veteran who survived a series of shootings in Ukraine has been dubbed the iconic character 'Rambo'.

According to the British newspaper The Metro, Sharif Amin spent nine years in Afghanistan in the First Battalion The Rifles.

According to Sharif Amin, when the war broke out in Ukraine in February, he immediately went to Ukraine and initially participated in humanitarian aid activities.

However, as the fighting intensified, Sharif Amin began military training of Ukrainian citizens based on his combat skills and experience. In October, the Russian military bombarded Sharif Amin and his unit.

His lungs, hands and legs were seriously injured in this attack.

I would not be alive. I was in an empty trench with a Ukrainian friend we called Professor. At that time firing was taking place. The professor fell on me and that's when I realized we were being targeted. I thought I died here. I will die and I have accepted this situation.

He called for help from another colleague, Ole Shumov, who, regardless of the firing, rushed to Sharif Amin's aid.

At that time, Sharif Amin realized that he was badly injured.

Soon after, Amin and Ole Shumov were rescued from further fire by Cossack Warrior armored vehicles and taken to hospital.

Despite severe injuries, Sharif Amin is now able to walk again, but his right hand and leg are not normal.

He is named after Sylvester Stalin's film character John Rambo. John Rambo was also seriously injured in the war.

Friends are raising funds for the return of Sharif Amin and his Ukrainian fiancee.

He has been awarded the Medal of Valor by Ukraine.

Sharif Amin says that he has no regrets about his decision to fight in Ukraine.

'If I sit at home in spite of my war skills and experience, then what kind of person have I become?'
