An Indian technology company on Friday successfully test-fired the country's first privately developed rocket Vikram S.
According to Indian newspaper The Hindu, SkyRoot has designed the Vikram S.
The rocket was launched from Sri Harikota at 11:30. India has joined the list of countries sending private rockets into space.

Pawan Goenka, chairman of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center, said, "We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the mission Prarambh." This is the launch of SkyRoot Aerospace.
He said that the rocket rose about 90 km and had a range of 121 km.
SkyRoot Aerospace was founded in Hyderabad. It became the first Indian private company to launch a rocket into space.
Pawan Goenka said that the planned results regarding the rocket are in line with this.
Friday's experiment is being hailed as a major milestone for the private sector's role in space exploration in India.
According to the observers, after the successful experiment, it will be easy for the company named SkyRoot to do more experiments in this field.
