The Indian film 'The Kerala Story' has been mired in controversy even before its release and the police have registered a case against the crew of the film.
According to Indian newspaper Hindustan Times, Kerala Director General of Police Anil Kant directed Thiruvananthapuram Police Commissioner Sparjan Kumar to take action against the crew of the film 'The Kerala Story' to portray the state as a safe haven for terrorists. File a case against

Two days ago, BR Arvindakshan, a journalist based in Tamil Nadu, wrote to the head of the country's Board of Film Certification, Prasoon Joshi and others, demanding a ban on the film.
A copy of the complaint was also sent to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who later forwarded it to the DGP.
Arvindakshan wrote on his Twitter account, "I have sent a mail to the Chief Minister and DGP of Kerala asking them to call Sudiptu Sen, director of The Kerala Story and investigate the veracity of the teaser."
Later, in a letter written to the Chief Minister, he said that this film is against the unity and integrity of the country which will tarnish the intelligence agencies as well.
After examining the teaser, the police came to the conclusion that it (the teaser) made many claims without any evidence and was intended to 'tarnish the image of the state and incite hatred among different communities.'
A case has been registered under sections A and B of Section 153 (promoting unrest and enmity between different groups on grounds of creed) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code, a senior police officer said.
The film is based on four women who allegedly went missing from North Kerala and were later transferred to prisons in Afghanistan after their husbands were reported dead. Two years ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to allow him to return to the country.
