Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that national security cannot be achieved unless there is equal development for all in the society.
Addressing a function at the Islamabad Policy Research Institute in Islamabad on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that "no country can be safe in which a small section becomes rich and the rest are left behind."
The Prime Minister further said that rule of law is the basic thing and it is through this that democracy moves forward. "Without the rule of law, the same criminal elements come to the fore in elections."Imran Khan said that corruption is a sign of lack of rule of law.
Stressing on the need for think tanks in Pakistan, the Prime Minister said, "Because of this, real thinking emerges."
"If there are no think tanks, others will tell you instead of doing it yourself," he said.
Referring to Afghanistan, he said, "That is why it was said that they did not succeed because of Pakistan."
"The country that sacrificed 80,000 lives, but was never given credit, has been discredited for playing a double game," he said.
"No leadership has ever thought of a think tank, so our message has never really reached the world," he said.
"It was a bad time, when we were supporting them and they were dropping bombs on us."
According to Imran Khan, we had "no intellectual leadership, the country was divided into pro-American and anti-American groups."
Referring to Islamophobia, Imran Khan said that it was not just our fault. "No religion allows extremism. Humans are conservative, liberal and extremist."
Referring to Indian-administered Kashmir, Imran Khan said, "Western countries do not criticize what is being done there at the moment."
"If there were think tanks in the Muslim world, they would have raised this issue."
Referring to the three types of education system in Pakistan, he said that some children study in English medium schools while some study in Urdu medium and some in madrassas.
"There were four or five English medium schools when I was studying. Instead of fixing the system, it got worse."
Imran Khan said, "At the moment, American think tanks are calling us the most dangerous nation in the world, but there is no response from us."
"I hope there will be more think tanks in Pakistan that will present our statement to the world."
Imran Khan said that when he first went to England, there was a group called Skinhead. "Any Asian he found would be caught and beaten."
He said that if he had only focused on Skinhead, he would have found the society in England extremist. "England is a liberal society."
