The Israeli president has said his country supports the UAE's security needs and wants stronger regional ties.
According to the British news agency Reuters, this is the first visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to the Gulf country, who arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.
His visit comes at a time when world powers are trying to revive Iran's nuclear deal.
In 2020, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the US-brokered Abraham Accords agreement with Israel for peace in the White House.
The two Gulf states and Israel share common concerns about Iran and its allies in the region.
Ishaq Herzog discussed security and bilateral relations with Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi.
It should be noted that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia of Yemen has twice attacked the United Arab Emirates with drones and missiles in the last 14 days.
A statement from the Israeli president's office said, "We fully support your security demands and refrain from any attacks on your sovereignty by terrorist groups." Condemn in every kind and language.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that "Israel and the United Arab Emirates share a common vision of the threats to regional stability and peace, especially those posed by militias and terrorist forces."
"Today I met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Abu Dhabi," he tweeted, referring to his meeting with the Israeli president.
"We discussed our bilateral relations, regional issues of mutual interest and the importance of finding more opportunities to build bridges of cooperation and friendship between our two countries."
It should be noted that the role of the presidency in Israel is mostly formal. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also visited the UAE in December, before the Israeli president.
According to the UAE News Agency, President Ishaq Herzog also met with the UAE Foreign Minister and other officials. He will also meet with the Jewish communities in the UAE.
