Saudi military alliance claims to have destroyed Houthi communication system in Yemen

Riyadh: The Saudi military alliance has claimed to have destroyed the communication system of the Houthi rebels in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

The Saudi state news agency SPA quoted a statement issued by the Saudi coalition as saying that the Houthi communication system connected to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Sanaa had been destroyed.

The coalition added that the Houthis had targeted the communications system responsible for managing drone control stations. The Houthis used the ministry for their offensive operations.

An SPA spokesman in Sanaa confirmed the attack, saying the Saudi strikes targeted several locations near the ministry.

Although no casualties have been reported so far, this is the first attack by a Saudi coalition targeting a civilian ministry rather than a Yemeni defense ministry.
