Babar Azam set another record

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has set another record by continuing his excellent performance in the field of batting.

Babar Azam became the fastest player to score 4,000 runs in ODI cricket for Pakistan while he became the second fastest player to reach this stage at the international level.

Babar Azam, who completed 4,000 runs in 82 ODIs, has clinched the title behind Sir Vivian Richards, Joe Root, Virat Kohli, David Warner and Shekhar Dhawan.

South Africa's Hashim Amla tops the list of the fastest 4,000 run scorers who have won the award in 81 matches.

According to cricket records, if Babar Azam manages to score a century in the next four matches, including today's match, he will be credited with the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket by any Pakistani captain.

At present, Babar Azam has scored three ODI centuries while playing as a captain, Azhar Ali has scored three, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have scored two, two century innings while being the captain.

By scoring a century in the next four matches, Babar Azam can also claim the honor of being the fastest 15-century innings by any batsman in ODI cricket.

Since 2019, Babar Azam has played 29 ODIs and scored 1718 runs at an average of 66.07. While he has played 158 individual innings, he has also played eight half-centuries and six-century innings.

During this period, Babar Azam has played at least one century innings in every ODI series.

The first match of the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia is played on Tuesday, March 29 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
