Poland, 45 Russian spies in the guise of diplomats deported

Poland's Interior Minister Marius Kominsk has said he has "deported 45 Russian spies in the form of diplomats".

In a tweet on Wednesday, the Polish interior minister said "we are dismantling Russia's special services network in our country."

Earlier, a spokesman for Poland's counter-intelligence agency ABW said it had identified 45 Russian diplomats as suspected spies and called on the Foreign Ministry to deport them.

"The Internal Security Agency has compiled a list of 45 people working in Poland under the guise of diplomatic activities," ABW spokeswoman Stanisla Ziren told reporters on Wednesday, according to the French news agency AFP.

He accused the suspects of targeting Poland.

"A list of suspects has been sent to the State Department," Stanislane Zern said on Twitter.

"ABW is requesting that they be deported from Poland."

He added that ABW had "arrested a Polish citizen on suspicion of spying for the Russian Secret Service."

The arrested man was working in the archives of the Warsaw Registry Office. The suspect's activities pose a threat to both Poland's internal and external security. "
