Karachi: All-rounder Ben Stokes, who led England to the World Cup in 2019, has been named captain of the English Test team.

"I am honored to have been named captain of the England Test team. I also thank former captain Joe Root who has done so much for England cricket," said Stokes.

"It's a big part of the route that got me here and they will continue to be with me," he said.
