77 people died due to rains and floods in Sudan

 Khartoum: So far 77 people have died due to rain and flood disasters in Sudan.

According to international media, thousands of people have become homeless due to the destruction of around 15,000 houses due to the natural disaster.

According to the spokesperson of the Sudan National Council Civil Defense Brigadier General Abdul Jalil Abdul Rahim, 77 people have been killed so far due to the rains that started in May.

He said that the areas affected by rains and floods are North Kordofan, Gezira, South Kordofan, Darfur and the Nile River areas.

According to the United Nations Organization (OCHA), 1 lakh 36 thousand people have been affected by the recent rains, and the number of victims is expected to increase in view of further rain forecast.

According to the data so far, compared to the rains during the same period last year, this year's rains have caused double damage.

The rains and floods that occur in Sudan every year cause massive damage to property, crops and infrastructure.
