The passport department says that "if a resident foreigner issues a visit visa. During this time, the residence of the resident foreigner expires, then even in such a case, the visit visa can be extended."
One case in which extension cannot be granted is if the total duration of the visit visa has exceeded 180 days. The period cannot be extended beyond 180 days. This restriction is valid even if the resident foreigner's iqama is effective.
According to the passport department, if the visit visa is not extended within three days after the expiry, then a delay penalty will be charged. According to the prescribed regulations, the visit visa holder must leave the country before the expiry of the visa and it is mandatory to adhere to it.
