An explosion in a mosque in northern Kabul killed 30 people, while the authorities have expressed fear of further increase in casualties.

According to the report of the foreign news agency, the explosion in the mosque took place during the prayer. After the explosion, the Taliban forces surrounded the area and the volunteers of the welfare organization rescued and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses said a loud explosion was heard in northern Kabul, shattering windows in nearby buildings.

Kabul Police Spokesman Khalid Zadran said that the explosion took place inside the mosque. A Taliban intelligence official said on condition of anonymity that the explosion occurred in a mosque in the Khairkhana area of Kabul among worshippers.
According to local media, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
