As the war between Ukraine and Russia continues, food prices will continue to rise.
Arif Hussain, Chief Economist of the United Nations World Food Program, said this in an interview.
He said that it is not possible to reduce the prices of food items as a result of the Ukraine conflict affecting the supply line and climate change.
He added that the war had given 'further fuel to an already burning fire'.

But Arif Hussain said that global food crisis is due to increase in prices rather than availability.
He said that food is available but the price is very high.
According to United Nations data, global food prices were 13 percent higher in July 2022 compared to the same period last year, and prices are continuing to rise.
Fertilizer prices are also continuously increasing due to which food prices are also increasing.
The reason for the increase in fertilizer prices is Russia's restriction of fertilizer export.
Arif Hussain said that if the supply of fertilizer is not restored, it will not be possible to overcome the food crisis.
He further said that the United Nations estimates that the number of people deprived of food has reached 345 million which was 13.5 million in 2019.
Similarly, due to increase in the prices of energy sources and affecting the supply chain, the situation has worsened and according to the World Bank, there is no possibility of improvement in the situation for the next 2 years.
