New Zealand: The case of finding children's remains from a suitcase, 'the mother may be in South Korea'

A woman from the family of the children whose remains were found in a suitcase bought at auction in New Zealand has been identified.

According to Reuters, a woman from New Zealand who arrived in South Korea in 2018 is believed to be the mother of the children.

It should be noted that last week in New Zealand's capital Auckland, a family bought a suitcase in which the remains of children were found at an auction of household goods.

The family, who lives in South Auckland, made the shocking discovery when they came home and opened a suitcase.

According to the police, it is possible that the woman's age and old address in South Korea indicate that she is the mother of the children, but the police are yet to confirm whether the woman is still in South Korea.

The said woman was born in South Korea but she is a citizen of New Zealand.

After receiving the report that the remains were imported from the suitcase last week, the Auckland police declared it a homicide and started an investigation.

The police said in a statement that the children were between five and ten years old and some time had passed since they were killed.

Police have made it clear that the family that bought the suitcases has no connection to the murders or the children.
