Project Veritas, a social organization, offered Amy Harris and Robert Kirlander $20,000 in exchange for the diary.

The social organization also asked for the theft of other items, including digital files of photos of Ashley Biden and her family.

According to the Department of Justice, Joe Biden's 41-year-old daughter Ashley Biden left her personal belongings at a friend's house in Florida.

Social organization Project Veritas is affiliated with the Republican Party in a personal capacity.
