Taliban government is not against girls' education, Sohail Shaheen

 Kabul: The head of Taliban's political office in Qatar, Sohail Shaheen, says that the Taliban government is not against girls' education.

Sohail Shaheen said in an interview to American TV that the government of Afghanistan is not against girls' education. Millions of Afghan girls are studying in primary schools. Afghan women are also working in education, health and various ministries.

Sohail Shaheen further said that comparing Afghanistan with European countries regarding women's rights is not correct because Afghanistan is an Islamic country.

He said that Afghanistan is abiding by the Doha Agreement and Afghan soil will not be used against any country including the United States.
