Why did the trend of online shopping increase at the beginning of the new school year?

 Saudi Arabia is witnessing an extraordinary increase in the trend of online shopping at the start of the new academic year.

Due to the growth in traditional markets, consumers are preferring online shopping.

A survey conducted by Ughwal News said that 'a large number of people preferred online shopping due to the unusual rush in the markets before the end of the annual school holidays'.

Most of the items bought online were related to students, including copies, school bags and textbooks, apart from uniforms, shoes and electronics.

On behalf of online shopping websites, a special advertising campaign was also launched in this regard, which saw significant effects. Attractive discount schemes on online shopping in the advertising campaign grabbed the attention of buyers.

According to the report issued by Saudi Telecommunication, "95% of purchases were recorded through online stores from within the country, while the ratio of purchases from outside the country has been 51.4%".

The report further stated that 92% of online shoppers were women while 82.5% were men. The percentage of people buying clothes and shoes through internet was seen at 82.5% which was the highest.
