Dozens of Iraqi and Iranian Kurds held a protest rally in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil on Saturday over the death of Mehsa Amini, a young Kurdish woman who died in Iranian police custody.
According to Reuters news agency, protesters carrying placards with Mehsamini's image were chanting slogans of women, life, freedom outside the United Nations office in Erbil.

It should be noted that last week in northwestern Iran, on the occasion of the funeral of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mehsa Amini, the protests began, in which a group of young people carried posters related to independence.
It is said that Mehsa Amini was taken into custody by the police enforcing moral code due to the part of her hair showing out from her hijab.
Namam Ismaili, a man from Sardasht, a Kurdish town in northwest Iran, who participated in the protest, said that we are asking for rights for ordinary people because self-respect and freedom are the basic rights of everyone.
After the death of a Kurdish woman, Iran's strict regulations on women's clothing and other restrictions, along with various economic issues, have once again sparked anger among the youth.
The Iranian actor and director from Erbil region of Iraqi Kurdistan has said on this occasion that we are not against religion, we are secular and we want religion to be separated from politics.
