The Saudi Ports General Authority (SGA) has said that a new shipping route has been inaugurated to connect Jeddah Islamic Port with ten international ports.
Mediterranean shipping company MSC has added a new route. It is a leading name in cargo and maritime services.

Due to the new shipping route, Jeddah Islamic Port will be connected to Colombo, Salalah, King Abdullah Port, Valencia, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Antwerp etc. Eleven major ships will ply between these ports. Each ship will have a capacity of 14,000 containers.
The first flight is expected to depart from India and arrive in Jeddah on October 23. The first ship from European countries will arrive in Jeddah on October 26.
The opening of the new shipping route is proof that Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest container port in the kingdom.
Several features have made Jeddah Islamic Port an important port in the region as well as in the world. It has gained an important position among the ports of the Red Sea.
According to the World Bank report, Jeddah Port is ranked 8th in the world in the container graph.
