Protests against Mehsa Amini's death, Iran's president sued in the US

 Protests continue in Iran over the death of a woman in police custody for not wearing hijab properly, while on the other hand, it has been announced to file a case against President Ibrahim Raisi over the same issue.

According to Arab News, the Iranian president, who attended the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York this week, hopes to be able to calm the anger of his people, but Iranians and Western countries who disagree with his government. The men have announced a lawsuit against the Iranian president, who accuses Iran of holding and torturing hostages by his government.

The lawsuit is being filed in the Southern District of New York by human rights activist Shaheen Milani, who is also supported by Iran's National Union for Democracy.

This lawsuit is on behalf of individuals who claim to be victims of the alleged crimes of the Raisi regime.

Plaintiffs say they endured torture that was directly or indirectly ordered by President Raeesi, meaning the Iranian president would have to face trial under U.S. law.
