The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has approved the award of the third level medal to citizens who donate blood on the recommendation of the Health Department.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, 60 citizens will be awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal for donating blood 10 times.

The aim of the blood donation drive is to address the plight of needy patients.
Blood banks established in all cities of Saudi Arabia store blood donated by citizens and later distribute it to patients in need.
Blood banks established across the country encourage local and foreign citizens to donate blood and also conduct awareness campaigns to ensure immediate assistance to the needy in an emergency.
Royal honors are also given to encourage people who donate blood and such people are awarded with a medal.
