Saudi Cabinet meeting, review of economic reforms under Vision 2030

 The Saudi cabinet has said that cooperation with the international community will continue to achieve the goals of sustainable development in the country. According to Vision 2030, the Saudi economy has been stabilized by economic reforms.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday in Qasr al-Salam in Jeddah under the chairmanship of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The cabinet has reviewed the issues discussed in multilateral and bilateral meetings at the level of G20, Arab League and GCC countries in recent days.

Messages received by Cabinet members from the presidents of Tajikistan and Burkina Faso to King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the start of the meeting. The Indian Prime Minister sent a letter to the Crown Deputy Prime Minister and the Japanese Prime Minister informed the Crown Prince over the phone about the issues under discussion.

Acting Minister of Information Dr. Majid Al-Qasbi told SPA after the meeting that "the cabinet has reviewed the results of the economic reforms under the Saudi Vision 2030 and the reforms in the structures of state institutions."

He said that confidence was expressed in the meeting that the reforms have helped to deal with many challenges faced by the world during the last two years and to stabilize the Saudi economy.

The Saudi cabinet said regarding the opening of the Jazan city port that a new logistics platform has been added to the kingdom. This will give Saudi exports more access to global markets and facilitate the improvement of industrial capacity in order to achieve the goals of Vision 2030.

 The Cabinet members also reviewed the report containing the assessments and recommendations of the Economic and Development Affairs Council, the Political and Security Affairs Council, the General Body under the Council of Ministers and the Expert Board under the Cabinet.

The Cabinet appointed the Minister of Energy to negotiate and sign a memorandum of cooperation with Chad in the field of energy, the Minister of Culture to negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding with China in the field of culture, the head of the University of Jeddah to the Marshall of the University of California. Delegated powers to negotiate and sign MoU with Centre.

 Establishment of diplomatic relations with the State of Belize, Memorandum of Understanding with France on cooperation in the field of tourism, Jbeel and Yanbu Royal Commission Majlis administration has been approved with powers to formulate competition regulations in Jazan City.
