Ukraine and Russia agree to exchange 200 prisoners of war under Turkish mediation

 Istanbul: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said that Ukraine and Russia agreed to the exchange of 200 prisoners of war.

According to the World News Agency, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met his Russian counterpart at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting and discussed important issues regarding the Ukraine war.

Upon reaching his country after the meeting, the President of Turkey told the media that Russia and Ukraine have agreed on the exchange of 200 prisoners, which is very welcome.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan added that the Russian President's speech seemed to indicate that he wanted an immediate end to the war.

It should be noted that due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine since February, there is a fear of global oil and gas crisis, while commodity prices have increased.

World powers have imposed a ban on the purchase of oil and gas from Russia, due to which Russia itself is facing an economic crisis and has also had to retreat at the hands of the Ukrainian army on two fronts.
