India has officially commissioned the country's first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, into the Indian Navy.
According to the Indian channel 'NDTV', on Friday, the ceremony of induction of 'INS Vikrant' into the Indian Navy was held in the state of Kerala, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi said that 'INS Vikrant' is not just a war machine but a proof of India's talent and capability.

What are the features of 'INS Vikrant'?
According to NDTV, this aircraft carrier is 262 meters long and has a width of about 62 meters. The ship has space for 30 aircraft including MiG-29 fighter jets and helicopters.
INS Vikrant also has accommodation for around 1600 people. The ship will initially carry only Russian-made MiG-29 aircraft, but as per the Indian Navy's plans, 26 other Boeing and French aircraft will also be accommodated on the ship after some time.
Earlier, the Indian Navy had only one aircraft carrier, INS Vikram Aditya, a Russian-built aircraft carrier.
According to NDTV, the Indian Defense Forces had said that they wanted three aircraft carriers. One of which will be deployed in the Indian Ocean and the other in the Bay of Bengal.
