Halloween stampede in South Korea, 50 people have heart attacks

South Korean authorities have said that "about 50 people suffered heart attacks and several deaths in a stampede in a narrow street during the Halloween festival in the capital Seoul."

According to the American news agency Associated Press, Choi Cheon-sik, an official of the National Fire Agency, said that "on Saturday night, there are reports of 100 people injured, and about 50 people suffered heart attacks who are being treated."

According to him, there is a possibility that people have also died due to a stampede in a narrow street near the Hamilton Hotel, but he did not specify the number of casualties.

He said that 400 workers were deployed across the country to deal with the emergency situation.

In a viral video on social media, some people can be seen giving first aid to a heart attack victim.

A local police officer said that they also received information about the stampede.

According to local media, the stampede broke out when people ran to a bar where they had been informed of the arrival of a figure.

In a statement, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol directed the immediate treatment of the injured.
