"Russia's move to suspend grain export agreement is provocative"

US President Joe Biden has expressed indignation over Russia's suspension of the agreement to export grain from the ports of Ukraine.

According to the Reuters news agency, President Joe Biden described Russia's move as provocative and said it would increase the number of people facing hunger.

Recall that in July, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement to reopen Ukrainian Black Sea ports for grain and fertilizer exports.

In response to Saturday's attack on the Russian fleet, Moscow has announced its withdrawal from the grain export agreement.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has said that Ukraine has attacked ships of the Black Sea fleet in the port of Sevastopol, the largest city of the Crimean peninsula, using 16 drones.

Russia says that British Navy experts have also helped in this 'terrorist' attack.

After Russia's suspension of the agreement, the export of grain from Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea will also be suspended.

Speaking to reporters, President Biden said that there is no justification for this action of Russia. This agreement was reached through the mediation of the United Nations and it should be maintained.

Russia has informed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in a letter that it is suspending the agreement indefinitely because it is unable to ensure the safety of merchant ships.

The historic agreement, brokered by the United Nations and Turkey, allowed the resumption of wheat and fertilizer exports from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.

After the Russian attack in February this year, Russian warships blocked the shipment of about 25 million tons of wheat and other grains at Ukrainian ports.

After this agreement between Russia and Ukraine, the world wheat price decreased for the first time.

It should be noted that Russia and Ukraine produce 30% of wheat imported worldwide.
