A man has been sentenced to 142 years in rigorous imprisonment in the case of the rape of a minor girl in the Indian state of Kerala.
According to the Press Trust of India, between 2019 and 2021, the convicted man sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl while staying at her relatives' house.
According to the verdict of the court of Pathanamthita, Kerala, the criminal raped the girl for two years.

The convict Anandan PR has been sentenced to 142 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of five lakh rupees.
The verdict was delivered by Judge Jayakumar Johan.
This is the harshest punishment given to any criminal in India under the POCSO Act.
According to the statement issued by the police, the criminal will have to spend only 60 years in jail.
According to the court decision, the criminal will have to spend another three years in jail for not paying the fine of five lakhs.
The case was registered by Tiruvalla police in March 2021 and witness statements, medical records and evidence were presented in court by the prosecution.
