According to the World News Agency, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, female candidate Penny Mordant and former Finance Minister of Indian origin Rishi Sonak were announced to participate in the election of the Prime Minister in Great Britain.

After long consultations with party leaders and MPs, Boris Johnson announced his withdrawal from the race, saying it was not the right time. You cannot govern unless the party has full support in Parliament.

After Boris Johnson dropped out of the race for the post of Prime Minister, India-born Rishi Sonak's chances of becoming the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom brightened, while Penny Mordant had to prove the support of 100 members.

The female candidate, Penny Mordant, initially claimed the support of 100 MLAs, but she failed to prove it and withdrew from the election process. In his statement, he said that he took this decision after consulting the party leadership and friends.
