Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Sabah appointed new Kuwaiti Prime Minister, cabinet announcement

 Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah appointed Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister and issued a decree to form a new cabinet.

According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was born in Kuwait in 1956. He is the eldest son of the Emir of Kuwait.

Completed education from school to university in Kuwait. BA from Kuwait University.

Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf has done military service. He has held the position of Lieutenant General (R) in the Ministry of Interior.

Served as First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister till 9 March 2022. He has also previously served as the Deputy Chief of the National Guards.

In the cabinet, Talal Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has been made the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Faris, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Council of Ministers, and Dr. Ahmad Nasir Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Hussain Ismail K Muhammad Al Faris has been appointed as the new Minister of Petroleum, while Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah will be the Minister of Defense. Abdul Wahab Al Rasheed has been retained as the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs.

 Among the other members of the cabinet, Dr. Rana Abdullah Al-Faris as Minister of State for Local Government Affairs and Minister of State for Information Technology and Communication, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi as Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi as Minister of Health, Dr. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ammar Al-Ajmi as Minister of Labour, Power, Water and Renewable Energy, Mazen Al-Nahad as Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Mushani al-Rifa’i as Minister of Training and Higher Education and Research, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman as Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Hadi Abdul Mohsen Al-Shayji has been made the Minister of Social and Welfare Affairs.
