He said that the effects of climate change that are being seen around the world are due to the 20 countries that are the most developed.
John Kerry said that 17 countries most affected by climate change are located in Africa, while African countries are responsible for only three percent of global carbon emissions.
He expressed his happiness over the holding of the next World Environment Conference COP28 in the UAE and said that the United States is working together with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and the UAE has also agreed to hold COP27 first. Agreements should be implemented.
John Kerry said that no country has the right to neglect to prepare a National Action Plan (NDC) on the environment and not play a role in strengthening it.
Referring to the increasing incidents of severe weather, forest fires and floods, he said that according to scientists, if the situation is not dealt with now, the situation will worsen.
"The scientific fact of increasing carbon emissions cannot be denied. We have to control this emission. And every country should strongly demand clean air and that their rivers and streams do not dry up, so that they can continue to produce food as they have been doing for centuries.
