Dubai: The founder of messaging app Telegram has warned people to use any messaging app other than WhatsApp if they want their phones not to be hacked.
The flaw gives a hacker the ability to take full control of a phone by sending a malicious video to anyone's number, citing a security leak by WhatsApp last week, Pavel Durov said.

"Every year we come to know of an issue related to WhatsApp that puts users' devices at risk," he said. It doesn't matter who you are, if you have WhatsApp on your phone, all the data of every app on your phone is accessible.
The Russian billionaire, who is in self-imposed exile from Russia, said the security flaws were secretly inserted so that governments, law enforcement agencies and hackers could bypass encryption and other security measures.
Pavel Durov has previously said that unless fundamental changes are made to the way WhatsApp works, the app will never be secure.
