An application was filed in the Lahore High Court against the exhibition of the controversial film Joyland in Pakistan.

The petitioner contended that the film was made against Sharia and moral and religious values, which could break the family system in an Islamic society.

The petition pleaded that the film is against Pakistani and Islamic laws, such a film cannot be issued a license for its exhibition, so its exhibition in Pakistan should be permanently banned and the censorship certificate and license revoked.
