 New Delhi: After the T20 World Cup defeat, the Indian Cricket Board dismissed the selection committee.

According to Indian media, BCCI has invited applications for new selectors after dismissing the 4-member National Selection Committee headed by former cricketer Chetan Sharma.

During the tenure of the sacked selection committee, the Indian cricket team failed to reach the knockout stage in the T20 World Cup 2021 and also faced defeat in the final of the World Test Championship.

After the defeat in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup held in Australia recently, the selection committee of the Indian team was heavily criticized.
