San Francisco: Global streaming service Netflix has officially launched an advertisement-supported service.
Netflix has launched subscription with ads, thanks to which users will now be able to get the service at a lower price.

The ad-based package is initially only available in 12 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, the UK and the US.
The main objective of introducing the low-cost packages is to increase the number of subscribers as Netflix's subscriber base has been declining for the last two consecutive quarters.
The streaming service lost nearly two million subscribers in the first quarter of this year and almost a million in the second quarter.
