The waiting hours are over: The FIFA World Cup festival in Qatar is ready to be decorated

 There is not much time left to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The teams have arrived, the first match will take place after the opening ceremony.

Today, host country Qatar is facing Ecuador who are part of Group A. This match is being played at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

The first World Cup in the Middle East

This is the first time that a Middle Eastern country is hosting this mega event. Football is the most popular sport in the world and its World Cup is watched with passion even in countries that don't even have their own football team.

In the past, the World Cup has been held in different countries, but this time this honor has been won by Qatar.

Opening ceremony

Preparations in this regard had been going on for a long time on the part of the Qatar government and today, apart from the teams participating in the World Cup, millions of fans have also arrived in Qatar.

The opening ceremony of the World Cup is being held today in Doha, in which leaders from all over the world have arrived to participate, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In which city will the matches be held?

The scheduled matches will be held in eight stadiums in Qatar. The matches are starting from today and will continue till December 18.

There are 32 teams participating in the FIFA World Cup which are divided into eight groups (A to H) out of which only two teams will go to the knockout stage.

The biggest names in the world of football will be seen in action in this mega event.

All 64 matches will be played over 29 days, which is the shortest duration in the history of the Football World Cup with 32 teams.

Apart from the opening two days, four matches will be played during all the remaining days.

Each of the 32 teams will play three matches in their group before the knockout stage.

The pre-quarterfinal round before the knockout stage will begin on December 3.

Defending champions France will play their first match against Australia on November 23, while five-time world champions Brazil will take on Serbia on November 25.

Similarly, the semi-finals will be played on December 3 while the final will be played on December 18 at the Lusai Stadium.
