After the death of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat in India, the post has been handed over to General MM Nirvana.
According to NDTV, the charge received as chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee on Wednesday consists of the posts of three service chiefs.
The post was vacated on December 8 after the death of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash.General Nirvana has been given this position because he is the most senior of the three service chiefs.
Indian Air Force Chief Marshal VR Chaudhry and Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar took over on September 30 and November 30, respectively.
Prior to the appointment of the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Staff was the most senior of the three Chiefs of Staff.
A meeting of the Chiefs of Staff Committee was held on Tuesday in which General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other personnel were killed in a helicopter crash.
Capt. Varun Singh, who survived the helicopter crash, also died at the Bungalow Military Hospital on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, General Nervane also spoke by telephone with Fahd bin Abdullah al-Mutair, commander of the Royal Saudi Forces.
In this regard, the Indian Army says that in this connection, bilateral prayer cooperation was discussed.
