Sri Lanka's economic crisis worsens, 26 cabinet members resign

 Colombo: The country is in the grip of protests due to the severe economic crisis in Sri Lanka. Twenty-six members of Sri Lanka's cabinet have resigned.


According to foreign media reports, the Sri Lankan cabinet has resigned due to the ongoing economic crisis in the country and protests against the government.



In Colombo, members of the opposition protested against the curfew and demanded the immediate resignation of the president.

Foreign diplomats have expressed concern over the imposition of emergency in Sri Lanka. Under the emergency, the military has been given the power to arrest and detain anyone.


After the protesters stormed the presidential palace, President Raja Paksa imposed a night curfew across the country. Despite the ban on social media, anti-government protests continue in various cities in Sri Lanka.


Several people were injured in clashes between police and protesters. The protesters used to use the water ballon and the water to coordinate demonstrators, in response, protesters praised police.
