Riyadh: The Saudi government has set a target of hosting more than one million Hajj and Umrah pilgrims next year.
Hani bin Ali Al-Amiri, the deputy head of Saudi Arabia's National Committee for Hajj and Umrah, has expressed the expectation that the number of Umrah pilgrims will reach one million next year, for which all foreign agents have been connected to the online system. While in the country, 500 companies will work to serve Umrah pilgrims in which trained people will be recruited.
He said that permits have been issued to more than 2,000 agents authorized by the Ministry of Hajj, who will work in all countries. Agreements have been signed with 68 companies with modern buses to provide transport facilities to Umrah pilgrims. The source will be transferred to visitors.
Hani bin Ali Al Amiri added that 1900 hotels have been developed in Makkah and Madinah which will provide accommodation facilities in different categories while it is expected that Umrah will be started on 1st of Muharram.
