Why did the fee for importing domestic workers reach 32 thousand riyals?

Recruiting agency expert Hakeem Al-Khinezi said on the agreement with Indonesia that before the cost of importing staff from Indonesia was between 4,000 and 4,500 dollars. This cost was paid to recruiting agencies in Indonesia.

Hakim al-Khinezi said that when ordinary people had the facility to import domestic staff, the number of recruiting agencies in Indonesia was 500. Now their number has reduced to 200. A reduction in quantity will result in an increase in cost.

Another recruiting expert Moayed Al Shamiri said that some countries have only given recruiting licenses to companies. It is not very effective. Some companies offer hourly pay. This procedure is not a solution to the problem of domestic workers in the country.

Many Saudi families want to keep domestic workers as their dependents. They want domestic workers to accompany them. They should be with them even when traveling from one region of the kingdom to another and abroad. Hourly paid domestic workers may not be suitable for such families.

 Another problem is that the duration of importation of domestic staff can reach up to 4 months while recruitment agencies and companies were given 30 days to import.

Saudi authorities have approved the names of 15 countries for domestic staff. These include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

 Before the process of recruiting a domestic worker, the concerned family has the right to determine the nationality and name and address of the domestic worker. In case of determining the name and address of the domestic worker, the recruiting fee is reduced to 345 riyals.
