Violation of Trade Concealment Act, Punishment of Local Citizen and Two Foreigners

A Saudi court has sentenced a Saudi citizen and two resident foreigners for violating the trade concealment law.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, a local citizen gave an Egyptian a contract in his own name, while another Egyptian was given the opportunity to install and repair fire brigade equipment in his own name.

A local citizen was breaking the law to allow foreigners to do business in his name. All the powers of the business were delegated to the Egyptian citizens while also facilitating the remittance of business income abroad. The documents proved the allegations to be true.

After hearing the case, the criminal court in Hail ordered the Egyptian citizens and the Saudi citizen to pay a fine of 380,000 riyals and publicize the trio at their own expense.

The court also issued orders to close the two commercial establishments, cease business, cancel license, cancel commercial register, not to do business in future, pay zakat, taxes and fees.

It was also ordered that the foreigners should be deported and blacklisted from the country on completion of the prescribed sentence.
