Sources say that the power of the Canap nuclear plant has also gone out of the system and the power in Lower Punjab from Multan has also gone out of the system.
According to the sources, due to disruption in the National Grid, 6,000 megawatts of electricity has gone out of the system, and operations are underway to restore it.On the other hand, due to the fault in the National Grid, a large part of Karachi has lost electricity, where Liaquatabad C1 Area, Federal B Area Block 13, 12, 11, Nazimabad Block 4 and 3, Kharadar, Lyari, Old City Area, Malir Halt. And the electricity supply was also suspended in Rifaaam.
Electricity supply has also been stopped in Rashid Minhas Road, Gulshan Jamal, Dalmia Road, Gulistan Johar, Gulshan Iqbal, Defense Housing and PECH Society.
Apart from this, power supply has been suspended across the district due to the breakdown in Bahalingar, while electricity is also off in most areas of Multan city.
Statement by the Ministry of Energy
According to the Ministry of Energy, there has been an accidental failure in the southern transmission system of the country due to which several southern power plants are tripping in phases, the tripping of the power plants is hindering the transmission of electricity in the southern part of the country.
The Ministry of Energy said that it is investigating the cause of the outage with all its diligence and the power system will be fully restored as soon as possible.
